Can I get my Dendrobium Bigibbum to flower again ?

Hi,
I have a Dendrobium Bigibbum with a spray of flowers coming out of the newest cane. It looks like the flowers are dropping off one by one.
My question is, is it possible to get the same cane to re-flower (like the phalaenopsis)?

No, it’s a completely different kind of orchid. You can’t cut a dendrobium spike to get it to bloom some more. They will grow a spike next season off this years new canes. Many dendrobiums will send out spikes from the previous years canes at the same time as the new ones. I have a Dendrobium tetragonum that keeps reblooming from old canes as well as the new ones. A different group mind you, but you get the idea. Take good care of it and encourage new canes and you should be rewarded with plenty of blooms next year.
